Robin
Roberts combines original comedy songs that sound like pages
from her diary, with hilarious stand-up material. It's a
peek inside her multi-layered, simultaneously fulfilled and
unfulfilled life. Whether it's working as a birthday
clown, her latest one-night stand, why beauty's a pain in the
ass, or the mystery of men's behavior, Robin's show is always
fresh, funny, and true. She tells jokes and stories about her life, and
illustrates them with unexpected melodies and smart, edgy
lyrics.
Robin was
the opening act at the Ukiah County Fairgrounds for a rock n’
roll revival show starring Dusty Springfield and the Shirelles. She opened for Glenn Yarbrough at Club Caprice in Redondo
Beach, and appeared with Peggy Seeger (Pete Seeger’s sister)
at the venerable Ash Grove on the Santa Monica Pier. She performs regularly at The Coffee Gallery Backstage in
Alta Dena, The Ice House, Flappers Comedy Club, the Warszawa
Theatre in Santa Monica, Beyond Baroque, Storyphile, and countless coffee houses and
nightclubs around southern California. She toured the U.S. and Canada extensively, appearing at
major comedy clubs.
Robin was
privileged to be a member of the comedy rock n’ roll band The Housewives, founded by Hope Schwartz, daughter of Sherwood Schwartz (creator of The Brady Bunch and Gilligan’s Island)
and her husband, internationally renowned former Wings guitarist
Laurence Juber. Completing the trio was actress Barbara Chase,
daughter of Florence Henderson. The group played prestigious venues around Los Angeles,
singing songs about housework and domestic life, to much
acclaim.
Robin hosted
and wrote the theme song for the Canadian-American Women of
Comedy Tour, which raised money for victims of domestic abuse. She’s featured on the comedy CD’s “Stand Up Against
Domestic Violence” Vols. I and II.Happy to donate her humor to this worthy cause, still,
Robin ponders, “If men would stop beating up women, maybe I
could get some paid work!”
Robin’s
self-produced stand-up show, Comedy Schmomedy, ran for over ten
years in L.A.It
garnered four Comedy Picks of the Week from the L.A. Weekly, and
two Best Bets from the L.A. Times. Larry David, Jeff Altman,
Nora Dunn, Andy Kindler and Maria Bamford are among the notables
who performed.Metro
L.A. named it, “The classiest and most professional stand-up
show in the Valley.”
She’s been
featured on Dr. Demento, National Lampoon Radio, Relevant Music
& Muse on L.A. Talk Radio, The David Feldman Comedy Show on
KPFK, and numerous other comedy and music podcasts and radio

Her day job
is working as a birthday clown. She sings about it, tells jokes about it, and has
compiled over a hundred true conversations with kids that she
posts weekly on Facebook under the title: “Another True
Comedy Moment With Rockie The Clown,” which she intends to publish as
a book.They are a
huge hit online!Robin
was the clown for the L.A. Dodgers for eight years, painted
faces at Neverland Ranch until she was escorted out by security,
and drives around the city every weekend entertaining kids from
every ethnic and socio-economic group. After years spent working
as a secretary to top agents and producers in Hollywood, this
job is more rewarding and much funnier!www.comedyschmomedy.com/rockie
Robin spent
a month on the island of Malta, teaching stand-up comedy to the
Maltese.The result
was the first stand-up show in Malta’s 5,000-year history,
which she hosted.She
doesn’t want much, just a plaque on some ruins that says,
“Robin Roberts -- She brought the Catskills to the
Mediterranean.”
Robin’s
quirky, eclectic life makes for delightful comedy and music.
Her
rapport with the audience is magical, and she presents uniquely
original stories, jokes, and songs.
The Pasadena
Weekly says of Robin:“Her
timing’s dead-on, with an oddly endearing New York edge that
sharpens her live act.”
“Robin is a funny, talented performer that
deserves your attention.She’s
professional in every way a performer should be. Robin has a
certain quirky sort of humor that makes you want to reach out
and hug her. Her humor is clean and she’ll open your
audience’s hearts like no one I’ve ever seen since!”

Testimonials -
"Robin's
show hit a home run at our office holiday party! Her
personalized material about the employees instantly captivated
the crowd and kept them laughing the whole time. The
ad-libbed comedy she created by talking to the audience was
amazing! Delightfully unpredictable. I would recommend
Robin and will hire her again. Much better than a regular
stand-up act." Stephen
Gibson - Law Office Manager
"The
entertainment you provided at my wife's birthday was fabulous.
You
are so filled with energy, and obviously thoroughly enjoy what you
do. The guests loved you, and involving them in your very funny
patter was well-received. The personal song you created for her
was brilliant, and underlined her attributes in an enjoyable,
well-performed, and respectful manner. You sing so well, and play
a great guitar! My very best to you, now and in the future." Bob Wallis on birthday roast of wife
Phyllis
